Dr. Vashist was born and raised in Fairfax, Virginia. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University Honors College where she received her B.S. in biology with a minor in chemistry. She subsequently went on to receive her medical degree from the American University of Antigua College of Medicine where she spent two years living on the beautiful island of Antigua followed by two years of clinical training in Brooklyn, NY. She then completed her residency in internal medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School located in Norfolk, VA.
Missing the hustle and bustle and diversity of NYC, Dr. Vashist decided to take the knowledge and experiences she gained during her years of training and move back to NY where she now resides with her fiancé.
Dr. Vashist takes pride in her ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships with her patients and caters to their individual needs in order to provide the most comprehensive and accessible care. Her interests include preventative health, women’s health, and chronic care diseases including hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, and arthritis.
Outside of work, Dr. Vashist enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, pilates, and experiencing new restaurants and cuisines.
